Christian Clemenson (born March 17, 1958) is an American film and television actor. He is well known for his portrayal of Jerry \"Hands\" Espenson in the television series Boston Legal, for which he won the 2006 Emmy Award for Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series. He appeared in a tense scene with Holly Hunter in the 1987 film, Broadcast News as a newsroom editor, \"Bobby, Bobby, Bobby...\" Many of Clemenson\'s early roles in television and film matched his personality as a bright, soft-spoken professional. He was a law student in the television version of The Paper Chase, Alex Keaton\'s English teacher in the television show Family Ties, the bailiff in the Ivan Reitman movie Legal Eagles, the flight surgeon in the movie Apollo 13, a cop in The Big Lebowski, a killer in The Fisher King and Dr. Dale Lawrence in the movie And the Band Played On. While he has been a familiar face for over a decade, until recently his name was not so well known. In 1999, Clemenson appeared in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode \"Bad Girls\" as a morbidly obese demon named Balthazar. He wore a large padded suit and extensive make-up for the role, and the character\'s repulsive, villainous nature contradicted many of his earlier roles. Recently, Clemenson has become known for his role as Jerry \"Hands\" Espenson on the television series Boston Legal. For playing Espenson, he won an Emmy Award for Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2006 and was nominated for the same award in 2007. He remained with the series through to its finale in 2008. In film, he starred as real-life 9/11 victim Tom Burnett in United 93. On television, he was a regular on The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. playing the part of Socrates Poole. He also had a recurring role on Veronica Mars. Clemenson also has appeared in a season 6 episode of NCIS, \"Dead Reckoning\". He also appeared in two season 2 episodes of The Mentalist. He has also appeared in the films Curiosity and Hysteria. On television, he is a recurring series regular on NBC\'s 30 Rock, portraying Jack/Danny Baker. In 2008, Jackson was cast as the series lead Sebastian Kinglare, and filmed the Lifetime Television pilot Family Practice opposite Anne Archer and Beau Bridges.[3] The series was not picked up for distribution.[4] Jackson has starred in several notable webisode series and in 2009 starred in a sold out one man show, \"Back to the Start.\"[4] In 2008, he was named Out magazine\'s Entertainer of the year. He is an international ambassador for amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research)[5] and a national ambassador and spokesperson for The Hetrick-Martin Institute.[6] Early life Jackson was born in Idaho and was named by his father after the 1950s Western series.[4] The third of four children, he was raised along a \"teeny mill town\" of about 1,200 people in a rural area on the Washington-Idaho border.[4] His father is a Native American and a Vietnam veteran. His mom taught Jackson, his sister and two brothers to sing and regularly played music from Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and Elvis. His parents were evangelical born-again Christians and this caused tension when he came out to them as gay at 19 after he had moved to Spokane, Washington.[4] His brother is a pastor who preached on the 700 Club.[4] Eventually the family accepted his sexuality.[4] Later he moved to Seattle, where he worked as an ad executive at a magazine and did some theater on the side earning his Equity card.[4] \"As soon as I found out what theater was, what Broadway was, I thought, Oh, that\'s what I\'ll do with my life. Just a matter of getting all the pieces in place.\"[4] Inspired to rethink his career after both a death in his family and the 9-11 attacks he moved to New York. Personal life He is openly gay and an LGBT rights supporter, as well as an ambassador for amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research)[35] and the national ambassador for The Hetrick-Martin Institute.[36][37] Jackson\'s partner, Monte Lapka, is a physicist; they have been together since 2000.[1][38][39]
John Mahr Rothman (born June 3, 1949) is an American film, television, and stage actor.
The resolutely tall and striking American actor Peter Hermann boasts a resumé that reads like a best-of American television series during the \'90s and 2000s. After playing Dr. Michael Burke on the soap Guiding Light for two years (1997-1998), Hermann often appeared on various popular shows not as a mainstay, but as a guest star or a several-episode fixture. These included Law & Order, Spin City, Sex and the City, and 30 Rock. Hermann also played the recurring role of Trevor Langan on the hit drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. On the set of that program, Hermann met actress Mariska Hargitay, whom he married in 2004; the two had their first child about two years later. Hermann took his first significant cinematic bow in 2006, when he portrayed Jeremy Glick in the broadly acclaimed, gut-wrenching 9/11 drama United 93. In 2008, he took on the regular role of Davis Draper, the ex-husband of one of the main characters on the prime-time drama Cashmere Mafia, but the series lasted only seven episodes.
